Chapter 13

....

Chapter 13 “I warned your so-called elders, it seems orcs are as stupid as they are ugly.” A man in his mid 20s taunted an orc on the verge of death. It was a bloody scene. War… no,it was an obscene one sided massacre. A single general is all it took to cut through the imperial army. He was possibly the strongest general to be recorded in action, mainly because he left a few to live against the wishes of all other generals. “What…do …you want…URGH” The internal damage was taking a toll on him as he coughed up unusual amounts of blood . “Please don’t ruin the shirt, but i’ll tell you” he sighed as he realised the bodies he had racked were enough. “So yeah, I'm not meant to take prisoners but most of you are strong, like really strong. I love fighting strong opponents, the others see your race as… I'll say inferior but they would use other terms.” For someone who just finished eradicating an entire squad, he was quite chatty. “But I have orders, the strong will be sent to the land of ruin. The strongest will be sent back to pass information to the council” he said as he walked towards the pile of corpses he had gathered. “Za’ud was the one that your allies fought the last time—” In a last ditch attempt, one of the survivors drove a great sword through his lower abdomen. `THUD` He fell to his knees. Blood dripping they thought it was over. But wouldn’t that be convenient. “Still possess the strength to ambush me?” even as it looked like he was done for he burst into a fit of laughter. “If only it was that simple to kill a sin. Seems I was too lenient.” His expression turned dark, the temperature began to rise. The pools of green blood on the soil began to boil, forming a thick mist. Even the patches of grass started losing moisture until they dried up and began to burn. “I will not make this mistake with your kind again. INFERNAL DOMINION:Ashen Cataclysm .” In a matter of seconds it was all burned to ashes. Nothing but the scorched earth remained. All the last 2 orcs saw was a sea of red and white, heat that was so intense it burned the pain receptors before it could register the action. SIGH As he looked at the sea of ash, a rift opened behind him. “Don’t you think this is a little too much?” her voice was soft, her aura was extremely violent. Almost like it was trying to negate something. “True but do you see the hole on this shirt? I got it a thousand years ago. The civilization is probably extinct.” he said in visible frustration as he took off the ripped shirt to reveal his torso, unscathed. “Let's go home, Veyl, I didn't come here for this.” she said as her hand caressed his chest. As she closed the distance between them the heat of the surrounding area began to drop drastically. “Fine, I should have a spare somewhere in that house. Does the boss say anything?” he held her hands as they walked through the rift, revealing a wooden house that seems to have been made by hand, in an arctic type environment. “No, I made dinner though.” Her smile was enough to break the will of most men. “Dinner? What happened to lunch?” he sat on a wide sofa in the living area as she rested beside him. “You’ve been gone almost 5 hours, a girl has to eat. After this..” she began to take off her shirt, leaving a massive tattoo of a rose with demonic wings on her back. “I see…” he replied with a lewd smile as he proceeded to embrace his wife. —----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Zephirine’s POV: ‘Today marks our second day on this stupid island. It might be a great place to train and gain experience but this is getting tiring.’ I had been walking for 2 hours fighting off E rank creatures at every turn. ‘I really need to understand why weaker creatures group together.’ I thought as I cast a fire wave spell that burned the troll like things that I had been encountering in this part of the forest. ‘Mage types are powerful, with enough aura and mastery they can use elemental affinities without being tied to them from birth’ I said as I watched my flames turn to embers before vanishing. ‘It all depends on compatibility and aura. Light mages can do a lot of magic spells with other elements imbued. But earth mages are limited to defence barriers’ It all seemed funny to me. Why were mages blessed more as a class? Every affinity had fighting class and defencive class, but mages could fall under both if they so choose. `BOOM` My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of an explosion. ‘Can’t see where it came from, tracking the aura output is the only logical path’ As I closed my eyes everything fell into a surreal darkness followed by a dead calm. I never really questioned my powers, but Frey said I can't rely on blind luck in every situation. So I trained with him and discovered it was a variation of hunters instinct. “Rough, untamed, burning with immense passion. That’s definitely Frey….” Something felt off, it was Frey but nobody was around him. Just a sheet of thin cold….shit. I ran towards his location, as I got closer I began to notice the burn marks on the trees and bushes were on a level he never displayed. “RRAAARRRR, LEAVE ME ALONE. I’LL NEVER BECOME YOOUUU” I could see him going on a rampage, fighting an enemy that wasn’t there. Which solidified my assumptions, FEAR FOG. The fog was a piece of the mist of madness, although it wasn’t sentient like the mist, it was still very dangerous. [SYNC COMPLETE, THE USERS HAVE LINKED UP BASED ON PREVIOUS RELATIONSHIPS] [SCAN COMPLETE, NO. 015501 IS SUFFERING FROM THE EFFECTS OF A HALLUCINOGEN. EFFECTS WILL WEAR OFF IN 24 HOURS] ‘I’ll be dead in 30 minutes if he doesn’t stop.’ Frey’s skills were in a league of their own, but he was fighting like a beast meaning lots of weak points in his stance and attacks. “Yo Starlight, miss me?” As I made that comment he rushed at me like a comet ready to destroy everything in its path. ‘Shit should have thought this through. This is Frey were talking about’ He rushed at me again but this time as I dodged I noticed his stance was off. Frey is versed in different sword styles but he said it messes up his one handed stance, and he has been swinging with one hand. I stood my ground letting him dive at me, I looked into his eyes, burning with an ethereal yellow hue. ‘Sorry’ I muttered under my breath as I launched an icicle at his head, he instinctively blocked it with his sword. He was about to take a step back right before I launched an aura pulse wave, throwing off his balance. As he fell to the ground, I knew he wasn’t about to stay down. Right as he was about to get up I used a barrier to keep him in place, but to my own surprise it was a nature style energy barrier. “Didn’t think i could do that” i said before hearing her stupid voice, Amanda. “Thats because it’s not just your barrier.” Where in the dragon’s den did she spawn from, was she following me, did she feel the intensity of Frey’s aura? “Sorry to cut in on your spell but a regular energy barrier won’t hold him, and I'm not as strong as you. So i—” “You hid, like a church rat.” I said with disgust. “...yes. I’m a support type. And I'm ranks away from you guys” she sounded sincere, but there’s no way I'm trusting vanilla. “Soo… where did you spawn from?” as i said that i began to sense the presence of other weaker creatures in the surrounding area and very faint traces of our classmates. “I was hiding and running after we got teleported, by nighttime i was terrified then as i got closer i noticed the creatures weren’t in a specific part of this forest, then i saw Frey, he was meditating when i met him.” It seems she isn’t lying, I want to punch her right now. “When he came through he told me to gather firewood so i don’t freeze, when i got back i noticed it got significantly colder and his aura was out of rhythm.” she looked at him in the cube shaped barrier then turned to me. “He kept yelling some names as he burned everything, I hid but his aura was getting overwhelming—” “Masking everything around him, that doesn’t change the fact that you’re a church rat” She sighed in defeat before her hand began to emit a gentle pulse. “I can flush out whatever is in him, I just needed him to stay in place without trying to roast me alive. Before I start I have a question…” “Sure do whatever” “Why didn’t you fight him properly, i noticed you only dodged and threw him off” she was actually very serious about this question. “”I’ve trained with Frey, and this isn’t him. But he’s my friend, hurting him too much might have sent him back to the teachers. Can’t let him lose the leader board race.” As she began to heal him I received a notification from the system [SCORE BOARD UPDATED] =ZEPHIRINE COLTEC: 185 PTS= =CURRENTLY SITTING AT NUMBER 7, SCORE BOARD WILL BE UPDATED BY MIDNIGHT= “Crazy, lemme see how the others are doing” the following information left me in awe. =FREY STARLIGHT: 500 PTS= =THARION PETRA: 320 PTS= =ALEX BLOODBORNE:300 PTS= =SELENE FROSTFIRE: 280 PTS= =ZOEY ASHVEIL: 255 PTS=
