Chapter 12

Day ONE

Chapter 12 The scene was an airship held up by a mechanism that resembled blimps of another timeline. Over 50 students were present on this ship, 40 first years, 6 second years and 4 third years. Although the second years were allowed to take part, the gap in experience between third years and second years was huge. =30 minutes to arrival, please organise yourselves. THE MISSION BEGINS 5 MINUTES AFTER LANDING. GOODLUCK.= “There’s about 160 students taking part in this exam. We need a plan” Axel voiced his concerns as he started to grasp the situation at hand. “You scared rocky? Don't we stick together….” “Yeah we’re a team!!.” Amanda said at the top of her lungs as she interrupted Frey. Everyone on board glanced at the source of the voice, they only continued with their business when they saw the team standing with her. “You really need to keep a low profile if you want to make friends here, we are the worst here” Zephirine finally stood up after an hour of meditation. “It can’t be that bad is what you were about to say, well Zephy pull up our wrapsheet” Frey said with a diabolical smile. “FREY STARLIGHT: TEAM LEADER AGE: 19, HEIGHT: 6’1”{186cm} POSITION: MAIN DUELIST. RANK:BEGINNER STAGE MASTER [EARLY B]. TIER 5 SWORDSMAN. AXEL GEADAMAS: THE strategist AGE: 19, HEIGHT: 6’2{189cm} POSITION: DEFENCE / COORDINATION. RANK: MASTER [MID B]. TIER 4 TANK. ZEPHIRINE COLTEC: THE ANALYST AGE: 18, HEIGHT: 5’6”{170cm} POSITION: AOE SPECIALIST. RANK: PEAK MASTER[PEAK B]. TIER 6 MAGE.” She blatantly gave away their academy profile cards before the promotion exam. Exceptional, a team of exceptional talent, outcasted because of previous events they had no control over. “Oh my, truly the best team to be with. Right? "To anyone who didn’t involve themselves in politics of any kind, this was the team to be with. But that wasn’t the case here. “And we were labelled as prodigies damned by fate. You better stay far—” he was cut off again, Amanda just won’t quit. “Oh please, just because of a few kids that just started puberty a few years ago?...” she had this look, disappointment was the easiest way to explain what she was feeling. “Lord Valerion spoke highly of you, talks of an unshakable will. Guess it was just hype” Frey knew he was being baited but couldn’t help the boiling rage growing. Not towards Amanda, towards himself for letting them get to his mind. “Against the will of the head priest I came here, to stand beside the gifted purple witch. Only to see the descendant of Fredric Coltec mask herself in loathing." She was gifted in so many ways but she never thought she was disgracing the man she adored since birth. The fury caused her energy output to spike, a wave of purple aura revibrated on the ship causing minor turbulence. “Relax Zephy. Chill out starchild, I can feel the radiation. Deep breaths both of you.” Axel realised she was pushing their limits and thought it was necessary but they were on very short fuses. =WE HAVE TOUCHED LAND. YOU HAVE 5 MINUTES BEFORE START TIME= “We’ll settle this on the ground, I'll show you what the hype’s about” Frey said, infuriated as he as well as the others walked to the assembly point. ‘Glowing blue crystal, tracking beacon. Three high level mages? Retrieval and teleportation.’ These were things Zephyrine observed as she assessed the level of the competitors. “_Welcome student…” a large screen appeared displaying a recording set by Valis Lux. “We are commencing immediately…sorry to those that don’t make it to the end” Whispers turned to mumbling, everyone wanted to know what he meant by that. “You all are registered with the system…” with a simple gesture a long board like screen appeared. LEADERBOARD. Bold words written in gold on a dark blue background. -NAME—---POINTS— Only two words, a similar board was accessible from the system interface, but the students were shocked to see the timer had already started. “Eliminations give points, an elimination is a near death experience and the eliminated will be teleported here immediately." blue beams of light started to engulf them as they realised it was a learn on the go situation. “Survive for 7 days to qualify for the tournament, 10 days is automatic entry. Avoid annoying the beasts here, they might not be worth the points” his crooked smile was the last thing they saw before everything was covered in trees. “F``CK” These were the only words they could utter as they realised everyone was placed in different locations of the island. “How dare she say I'm just hype. I’m the last user of the translucent technique. I'll show her the hype” Deep in a dense jungle frey was unbothered by the instant relocation. His aura spikes however were rather alluring to creatures in the surrounding area. =SYSTEM IS ONLINE= “Eh?” =DIRT BACK= =RANK:D= =STRONG SHELL, TRAVELS IN PACKS= “It talks?” Frey said as he looked at his system interface leave the transmitter on his wrist, leaving a small screen at the corner of his vision. “Oh? Ohh.” he said as he saw troll-like creatures with shells that looked like that of a tortoise. “Guess I'll have to warm up before I find my crew. Fun” he drew his sword, cutting down the one closest to him, before going on a slaughter spree. =FREY STARLIGHT: 100PTS ACQUIRED= =CURRENTLY SITTING AT NUMBER 2= =THE TOP FIVE WILL BE UPDATED TOMORROW= “Hold on a minute, who’s in the top 5 now?” =THARION PETRA: 120PTS= =FREY STARLIGHT: 100PTS= =SELENE FROSTFIRE: 90PTS= =ALEX BLOODBORNE: 85PTS= =ZEPHIRINE COLTEC: 80PTS= “SECOND….TO HIM?” Frey absolutely lost it. —----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Second place? Seems he’s still holding back.” Tharion sat beside a large stump as he looked at the bodies of mud crawlers he had just tore through. On a different part of the island, a flash of purple light could be seen before a small explosion was heard. “This isn’t what i was expecting, feels like a side quest to me” Zephirine was blasting through the path before her, the energy output was scaring weaker creatures, but she didn’t care. “Got to find Frey before vanilla does. Something about her feels off”
