Chapter 11

A young woman hummed a merry little tune as she used a rag to dust a shelf full of books. She was wearing a white apron over a black dress and had her hair tied into a bun making her look like a maid of an aristocratic house. Once she was done with the shelf she moved to a table filled with beakers and cylinders as well as various herbs and unidentifiable substances. One by one she began to tidy up, cleaning and arranging the glasswares while storing the herbs and spell components in their right places. She raised a mortar and then suddenly froze, she turned and looked all around her but couldn't see anything. She couldn't see it tell what it was but she felt a piercing gaze lock on her all of a sudden and couldn't shake off the feeling of being observed so intensely that she felt practically naked. She fished a small wand from beneath her apron and began to wave it while chanting incantations. [Detect life] [Detect magic] [Detect undead] She cast several detection spells but all came back negative, she was the only person in the mansion. She shook her head and decided to get back to work but just as she was about to start cleaning again she saw space in front of her ripple and a figure materialized from it. “~tsk, look who decided to show up after 9 odd months.” Eluisan clicked her tongue in annoyance as he locked her face downwards and continued what she was doing. “That is no way to welcome your master.” Aby smiled “Humph, I thought you'd abandoned your pet for good.” Eluisan harrumphed with displeasure “So you've finally accepted your fate as my pet.” Aby replied Eluisan instantly got flustered and almost flung the glass beaker in her hand away, “I’m not your pet, student, I meant to say student not pet.” She waved her hands and gesticulated agitatedly “Alright, whatever you say little witch.” Aby waved his hand dismissively, causing Eluisan to pout unhappily Aby took a step and his body turned into a blur as he transitioned into appearing right in front of Eluisan. “You’ve grown stronger and prettier my little Eluisan, or should I say witch of the House of Elui” he raised her chin up with his fingers and stared at her face His actions made her slightly flustered, and fidgety with her face turning red. She wanted to look away but she noticed something different about him. His eyes which always had an orange glow like embers from hell were now sky blue, deep, calm and reassuring. They were like a pair of the most beautiful gems she had ever seen. “Your eyes…” She muttered “Yes, they're beautiful aren't they?” “Get you filthy hands off me.” Eluisan suddenly snapped, slapping his hand away and shuffling backwards with a red face while avoiding eye contact with Aby. “What happened to your eyes, they're weird?” She asked in a small voice “You prefer it when it looks like ember coals?” Aby teased “No that's not what I mean?” Eluisan snapped at him. “I’m just returning from heaven, stole two layers of it and refined it into my eyes.” Aby replied nonchalantly although there was pride visible underneath his nonchalance Eluisan on the other hand had her eyes and mouth open so wide it appeared almost unnatural. “You mean that heaven?” “Yes, the same one you pray to each day for purification of the heart of a certain demon” Aby smirked and Eluisan turned her face in embarrassment “I went to settle some scores, and took the last two heavens as souvenirs.” “Oh, I brought something for you too.” he quickly added and a piece of jewelry appeared in his palm. It was a sleeve bracelet that caught light with a soft, ethereal glow. “It was forged from pure moonlight, that much I can tell. It makes the wearer more pleasing to the eyes, makes their transformation illusions impossible to see through normally and oh also increases the charm of the user making people bend easily to their will.” Aby gave a quick explanation of what it did. “It’s beautiful, is it really for me?” Eluisan slowly stepped towards Aby, her eyes glued on the bracelet, entranced by its beauty. “Yep, think of it as a reward for all your hard work.” Eluisan collected it and strapped it on, she felt a warm silky energy flow into her body almost making her moan with pleasure. “Thank you Abyssi.” she giggled excitedly while hopping on the spot, in a spur of the moment she leaned in and kissed his cheek before dashing out of the workshop.
