Chapter 8

This begins the second arc of Abyss's Chronicles, new character unlocked, same old demon immortal Arc Title: Witch of the House of Elui ...... Thunder thundered ceaselessly and lightning illuminated the darkened sky with its constant flashes, rain battered the earth creating puddles that soon accumulated into a flood. A figure clad in a raincoat darker than the night, with eyes glowing like fiery embers and a pair of horns black yet glinting dangerously with every flash of lightning. He was surrounded by a growing mist as every raindrop evaporated before it touched him. He soon halted, stopping in his tracks, his surroundings filled with trees that did nothing to block the downpour. He turned to his left, his eyes resting on a building, or perhaps what was left of the building after being battered ceaselessly by the river of time. His gaze then pierced through every obstruction, seeing beyond walls and doors only to rest on the figure of a young girl. Her hair unkempt and her clothes tattered not from time but from lack of proper care, on her nose rested a pair of spectacles that sharpened her sight enough to read the tome in front of her. Her surroundings were illuminated by a lone candle and to the side was a half drawn magic circle, an imitation of one that was on the tome she was reading. The girl stretched her arms and her back with a yawn only to catch a shadow behind her that was not there before, she quickly scrambled forward, snatching the candle and pointing it in that direction to see who it was. “How amusing.” The figure said with a wide smile that betrayed two fangs. “Who are you, what are you doing here standing there and smiling like a creep?” She asked, speaking rapidly. The figure didn't reply, his burning gaze staring at her with great intensity making the girl flinch and try to adjust her dress, “You pervert.” She spat and he smiled even wider. “You're an amazing specimen, I'll keep you?” He said “What do you mean keep me?” The girl asked “From now on, you are my personal belonging, as I have adopted you as a pet. Rejoice, human because this is a once in a millennium honour, one even gods, daemons and sprites would kill and die for.” He announced, spreading his hands in a grandiose manner but the girl only shrunk backwards in slight fear. “Stay away from me, you pervert.” She mumbled in fear and he felt his eyebrows twitch “I the great Abyssal Demon Immortal have been called many names, adorned with many titles but pervert is not one of them, you can fear me for many reasons except that which fills you mind right now,” He crouched before her, his aura suffocating and his words intimidating as his gaze seemed to burn itself into her soul “not like your body holds anything that can interest me.” He added as he rose to his feet, his eyes and words carrying contempt that made the girl's expression change from fear to dissatisfaction. “Tsk.... Stupid pervert.” She mumbled under her breath but the demon immortal heard clearly making him almost trip over nothing but he just smiled widely which clearly creeped the girl out. “Let's go mortal child, your days of mediocrity are over and mine are about to become more entertaining.” he said, grabbing the girl by her arm and tossing her over his shoulder like a sack before walking out of the ruined mansion in a strange manner that made walls lose all meaning. The girl protested, slamming her tiny fist on his back and thrashing around trying to get off but fully unsuccessful, they hadn't gone far when the mansion suddenly went up in the most violent explosion possible. “What was that?” She yelled, partly in curiosity and partly in fear. “The spell you were studying.” The demon replied calmly without halting his steps. “You're joking right?” The girl asked in a tiny voice as her neck shrunk backwards, instinctively trying to make herself smaller. “I wish I was.” The demon gave a smile that didn't appear like a smile.
