Chapter 8.
Frey blitzed through the halls as he looked at his system interface every 4 seconds. Every step had a spark that burned brighter the more he got anxious.
It didn't surface on his face, he was an expert on hiding his emotions at this point, but he was scared.
He had been getting unnerving dreams since he was child, but they got more unsettling in the last few years.
Since he got to the academy, he had been trying to avoid sleeping.
âWhat if it's him, I can't let it come to pass?â Frey muttered to himself as he made a sharp turn into a large hall decorated in runes and sigils.
âWhat the hell?â he said as a purple symbol started lighting up with an eerie glow.
[WELCOME BLACK STAR, IT'S A HONOR TO BE IN YOUR PRESENCE. TOO BAD MY REAL BODY ISN'T HERE TO ENTERTAIN YOU].
Fear was never something Frey believed he could feel for a being he couldn't see, what he felt was far worse than fear.
Before Frey had time to process his thoughts, he felt a weight equivalent to an orc dragging him, the obsidian tiles cracked under the sheer pressure .
The density of aura was what caused the sensation of suffocation. A being with enough aura and proper experience could force their aura onto another, for the soul purpose of over powering them with pressure.
âIf the main body isn't here~~~how strong is this thing?â Frey muttered under his breath as he tried to repel the downward force with his underdeveloped aura.
[DON'T FIGHT IT BOY, I'M NOT HERE FOR YOU.]
The voices almost sounded sincere, until Frey realized he wasn't the only person in the academy with external enemies.
ânnooo, leave her out of this! â Frey yelled, as his aura started pushing back the pressure.
[STRONGER THAN ANTICIPATED, NEVERTHELESS ]
Immediately it spoke, a thick black substance erupted from cracks in the wall, grabbing him by his limbs.
[SORRY BUT THIS ISNâT ABOUT HER IN PARTICULAR, SHEâS JUST RELATED TO A VERY IMPORTANT INSTRUMENT].
Something didnât seem right in that sentence, and Frey knew it.
Her entire blood line was excommunicated, stripped of their status and banished for an act they knew nothing about. So why now, why want her now.
âI have to~~warn her~~before~it's ~shitâŚâ
The black substance had a neurotoxicin that was meant to incapacitate its target on contact, Frey was an anomaly.
As it let go of his legs then his arms, dropping him softly on the cold floor, a figure began to form as the substance slowly clumped together.
âHad to put in more effort on him, what the hell is Valerion feeding this kid.â the being said as the fluids formed a female figure.
She stood at a natural height of 5ft7[170cm], her ebony skin glistened like the ocean at midnight under the rays of the full moon. Her dark blue eyes carried the weight of tsunamis she controlled, her curly hair, neck length, swayed like calm waves hitting the sea shore. Her aura was calm, controlled and enough to suffocate anyone below her ranks, LORD.
âThat should keep him at bay for another hour, could be less. This boy is the Blackstar after allâ she said as she looked at Frey's unconscious body. The gown she wore was a strapless midnight blue two piece.
A corset that held her cleavage in place without restricting airflow, and a skirt that flowed like a river as she walked away, looking for the last Coltec to inherit the Connections ability.
IN A FAR CORNER OF THE ACADEMY.
Somewhere in the student hall for 3rd years, Tharion and Axel stood almost 7meters apart from eachother in what looked like a battle. Axel had sustained a dozen cuts on his outfit while his opponent was unscathed by the confrontation.
âJoin me son of Geadamas, Starlight has nothing to offer for the risk you take parading with him and that Coltec thing.â Tharion said, trying to remind Axel of the politics involved in his alliance with Frey and Zephirine.
From the day he awakened his powers, Axel had been cast as unimportant by his own father. His mother loved him, but was too busy running her clinic to notice her son.
He had two older brothers that made it to the academy, one was proficient at magma control, the other was a nature user, mastering plant control with the help of his mother.
Both prodigies graduated the academy before Axel was given his entry examination, but since he awakened just earth with no possibilities for an upgrade, his father lost interest in him.
He looked at his opponent with hatred burning deep in his soul, none of which was directed at Tharion, but at
the way people like him treated others.
âYou want me to join you, so you can treat me like a weapon, a tool you can dispose of when it loses its edge?â he said as his aura began to spike, releasing a wave that did zero damage.
As his dark brown aura began to fade, Tharionâs face changed expressions as what he was witnessing was something only True masters were capable of, An evolution.
/BOOM/
Two metal rods pierced through Tharionâs shoulders from behind. He was too focused on a direct attack that his defence was bracing for a frontal charge, rather than an AOE.
âI would love to see you suffer but I have many pressing matters I must attend to.â he said as he finally noticed his system interface showing Freyâs indicator with a dim red light.
As he walked away Tharion smiled as he looked at his blood trickle down the metal tendrils into the cracks in the obsidian. âThat kid doesnât understand what he just did, at least something good came out of thisâ he said as his aura began to burn bright, radiating a large amount of heat melting the pikes in his shoulders.
âHe and Starlight donât have what it takes to finish off an opponentâ he muttered with a heinous smile as he left the hall. As he was about to fully exit the premises, he turned his head to a corner of the hall and smiled, muttering to himself, âseems the council is getting directly involved, this is going to be funâ.
âSigh, this boy is going to be the end of meâ Victor knight whispered to himself as tharion looked directly at his shadow imprint.
