Chapter 18

Killing the Bone General

He quickly pulled up his status and swapped out his title from spirit summoner to trash before activating its special effects.

[Trash:

Basic Title; Allows user to diminish his aura to the point where he is actively being ignored by everyone, placing him in a state of psychological invisibility. This state becomes invalid when use makes any drastic action.

Duration: 1hr

Cool-down: 45mins]

He wasn’t sure if it would work but he still activated it anyways, his figure suddenly vanished as he appeared two meters above the bone general who suddenly turned around trying to find Aldrin, next Aldrin added 150points from his free points to his strength stat, and another 150 to his agility raising his strength to 457 and his agility to 458 plus the various bonuses he got from equipment s and summon his total agility and strength already exceeded 500.

He took a deep breath as he felt power wash through his body and with a spin he gathered force and just when he was about to connect his sword the bone general looked up and caught sight of Aldrin but it was too late the great sword landed on its face.

[Critical Hit]

At that moment Aldrin felt as though the impact of his attack had been magnified by several times over, there was a still pause, the sound of a bone cracking followed by light shockwave and the bone general was sent into the earth.

At that instant Aldrin felt a brutal form of energy fill his entire form and before the bone general could recover he had sent a flurry of attacks at that same exact spot.

In a single minute he couldn’t count how many times he attacked the face of the bone general sending him further into the earth creating a crater, several cracks had formed on the skull of the bone general and eventually it broke into pieces and the ghostly flames in its eye sockets vanished.

Seeing the notifications he let out a sigh, before this he had levelled up twice from Golem and Sylph killing bone warriors down but was to embroiled in combat to take any note but now, from killing the bone general he levelled up three times and this was even with him and the spirits sharing the received spirit fragments, this pushed him from level 22 to 25, while he was still gasping for breath while taking joy in the rewards from the mission another notification came in.

Only then did he remember that Sylph and Golem were still battling the skeleton general, with a thought he unsummoned them wanting to avoid tireless explanations.

He sat down and took his time to rest, while doing this he pulled up his status window to have a look.

Aldrin looked at his stats and nodded in satisfaction, his base stats alone were now beyond 500, after adding in equipment bonuses then he was above 600 points.

After the elder got over his shock he flew towards Aldrin and landed right in front of him, he initially wanted to scold him for exploring such a dangerous demiplane on his own but couldn’t find the right words to use, his mouth opened and closed a few times before letting out a sigh, he couldn’t see through the young man in front of him.

ā€˜To think everyone had zeroed him off.’ He thought to himself

ā€œElder Sirius, I’m sorry for taking off without informing you, I found the demiplane quite faster than I imagined and just wanted to take a quick look out of curiosity but got carried away soon after.ā€ Aldrin took the initiative to speak after noticing the dilemma the elder was, he chose his words carefully so as to help the elder get out of his predicament while also saving him some face.

ā€œNo bothers at all, it seems there wasn’t anything you couldn’t handle and I might have caused you some troubles in the end.ā€ Elder Sirius said as he turned back to look at the undead skeletons that had begun crawling up the plateau.

ā€œThey can’t sense me, but they’re too weak to cause you any harm so I guess there’s nothing to bother about this.ā€ Aldrin replied basically affirming Sirius’s guess.

ā€œOn my way here I could find bloodstones and even soul stones lying around, I’m pretty sure there would be a mine and if we’re lucky we might even find a vein for the bloodstone or even both.ā€ Aldrin said he stood up, elder Sirius clenched his fist with an excited expression. What was a bloodstone, a bloodstone was an extremely rare resource that could only be found in extremely low quantities at a very specific environment, with this their value went without saying, a soul stone was something of an even exponential value, so what did a mine of bloodstone or soul stone mean? It meant there was an extremely large supply of these materials just waiting to be dug up. He didn’t even dare think of there being a vein otherwise it would mean rather than saying they’ve struck gold, they’ve actually struck a diamond mine.

Initially he was dissatisfied over the Gryphon clan getting only 30% of the demiplane as he believed he would have to do all the work in exploring and eliminating hidden dangers but now he was very satisfied with the 30% especially when the strongest entity of the demiplane had been killed and Aldrin didn’t seem to have any issues with exploring on his own, this means the clan got a 30% share of an extremely rich demiplane for doing literally nothing at all aside giving Aldrin a few measly tools and moral support, no matter how he looked at it, it was definitely a good bargain.

ā€œAbout these skeletons, I think you should head out first, that way it would be easier for me to navigate, once we get back to our respective clans we should organize those that would come to clear them, they’re mostly on the warrior level although they’re pretty skilled, this also means the demiplane could be used as a training ground for our clansmen. Or what do you think?ā€ Aldrin asked as he raised his sword and rested it on his shoulder giving off a very valiant aura.

ā€œIt’s a very good idea, I’ll be waiting for you outside, and your subordinates are already worried.ā€ Elder Sirius replied before suddenly disappearing but Aldrin knew he didn’t actually disappear but just moved faster than he could react.

After confirming that he was gone, Aldrin unleashed three of his spirit, Salamander, Golem and Sylph.

ā€œLet’s fight our way out.ā€ He ordered and all four of then jumped down the mountain, killing their way through, without the skeletons actively attacking them it was extremely easy as they cut through their ranks like hot knife through butter.

After a few minutes Aldrin noticed something, the amount of spirit fragments they received per kills far exceeded the normal amount, as he had levelled up twice in less than five minutes. It must be noted that the amount of spirit fragments he needed for each level far exceeded what he needed when he was in the mortal grade, and also his had to share the received spirit fragments with four other creatures.

His mind also went to the whooping amount he received from the bone general and began to make some inference and deduction, with the orcs the amount of spirit fragment he received was just a hundred time their level, but the spirit fragment he received from the bone general was around ten thousand times his level while the ones he received from the bone warriors was a thousand times their level.

His mind went to the skill and power level of the bone general and compared it to that of the orc warrior, as soon as that thought appeared in his mind he shrugged it off there was nothing to compare. Suddenly he remembered the soul stones and soul essence, these things could only be formed when grandmasters and supreme master ranked entities died in mass, if the ordinary warriors were on the level of supreme masters then what exactly was the level of the bone general, there’s no way he would be a measly level 52.

The only conclusion was that he had weakened over time and this explained how and why he got better with each passing moment and same went for the warriors down.

ā€œAh, I wish I got a soul armament from the bone general though.ā€ He couldn’t help but muse with a sigh; alas the human greed was endless.

And after a few more minutes he made his way through the portal after gaining two more levels, he entered the demiplane as a level 20 and exited as a level 26. A difference of six levels it might seem but his comprehensive strength had increased by many folds such that if he was to fight the previous him of just before he entered the demiplane, the current him was enough to kill at least 10 of that previous him without breaking a sweat.
